I had the best time with this sweet family last week. In-home sessions will forever be one of my favorite things to capture; so pure and fun!
I've never met anyone like Elisabeth; she is strong and fearless, always encouraging and pushing me to become a better version of myself.
When we both entered into adulthood, we went from being fifteen minutes from each other to being miles and miles away. Our schedules were crowded responsibilities and crammed with school assignments causing us to see one another only when we visited family in our hometown for holidays. Still to this day we don't live in the same state, but I've never felt closer to her because she still continues to cheer me on and impact my life in the best ways. Today I am reminded of how life brings us through crazy seasons, takes us to different places, but always leaves room for the most important people. Her friendship refreshes me and inspires me to go beyond my fears + insecurities.
Now Elisabeth lives in Washington DC while attending American University for her MA in Public Relations. She is impacting not only our generation but the world. She is not ashamed of who she is or what she stands for. I cherish every piece of advice that she gives me because she is so wise; constantly motivating herself to learn more and more each day. Though most of our communication comes from FaceTime or texting, I got to visit her last week (thanks to my freaking amazing mother who surprised me with a plane ticket) and explore her city while taking pictures and having conversations about life, our struggles, and what fuels our souls.
This past weekend I got to meet Michael and Mandi, the were nothing but sweet and genuine people. This adorable couple has been married for two whole years and it was an absolute blast getting to know them + their story.
above all, clothe yourselves in love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
colossians 3:14
To her, it was just a normal day. Four friends who hit the road to the mountains on a mission to take pictures with each other-- seeking the beautiful views that took our breath away. But little did she know, it was not just a normal day, Caleb has been planning this day out for months. Friends and family eagerly on their way to watch this unforgettable moment that was just minutes away from happening. They were side by side, hands held tightly, Caleb led Mel to the edge to see the mountains, he began to tell Mel how much she meant to him and how much he loved her. As he got down on one knee, the people that they loved most were watching from above, tears in their eyes as they saw that this very moment will change their lives forever. And just like that, without any hesitation, they were engaged!
I am always blown away how the Lord places people in my life and allows me to be part of such memorable and significant moments. These two are nothing but a joy to be friends with and they have such great love for each other-- they value and encourage one another.
I was so honored to capture these sweet and genuine moments for them. The greatest days are ahead of you two, and this is only the beginning of your amazing journey. I CANNOT wait to see where the Lord leads you both and the blessings he will give you in this life.
